  1. I tell everyone who listens that they need to join the booming green economy. The question is whether it has the capital to actually reach some of the ideas contained in the book. One I saw on the list is to be a consultant "Green House", which is a rapidly growing field with little capital investment for the Eco-Consultant. Some more information about the business is in [. . . ] Green Irene

  2. I commend the 75 companies Glenn `s Green Paper. My motivation comes from the fact that the book is well planned and provide clear guidance for those seeking to start a business on the green side. For those who are in the process of brainstorming green idea for a new business or renew your current one, I firmly believe that 75 GB can be your bible to find out what really can / wants to do in this area. Hopes that helps your decision on buying / reading. Thanks

  3. I bought and read this book, along with Green Intelligence: Creating environments that protect human health and Careers in Renewable Energy: Get a green energy job. This book is everything I had wanted and more - that exceeded expecations. For each of 75 "opportunities" arranged in eleven chapters that provides a synoptic (Market Need, Mission, knowledge to start, Capital Rquired, Opportunity to start, and special challenges, along with a discussion between the page and a variety of "sidebar" elements that vary, but generally face similar trends in the long term, Green Head, Information Industry, Information Resources, Eco-Council, or eco-editing. This is a book that can be read quickly to focus on as I did on one occasion that I think anyone could practice in any area, and Savings Journal of sustainability (the author uses the Chief Sustainability that seems too grandiose). The propositiion value here is simple: go to any customer, offer a free evaluation and recommendations for corrective action, and collect 20% of savings in the first year, 10% in the second year, 5% in the third year, then repeat the cycle. I have a book from one place to go for a second time, for two reasons: it has a lot of interesting information I picked up "in passing" and you want to (for example, most pharmacies are not trained in toxicology, bottled water costs 10,000 times more than tap water, use Google Earth to identify the best neighborhoods to offer energy-saving white ceiling, and in an envelope. The second reason I want to go through this book second time is because many of the opportunities that are listed can actually be used within a site located to become the "go to" local area advisor for all matters having to do with the greening, including LEEDS certification, replacement of bioplastics, receycling increased, reducing paper, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. This book, in other words, can become "Ref A" sustainability consulting services and support. I liked the author's observation that energy is everywhere, just have not figured out how to access it. This is related to my being extremely impressed by the new Nokia cell phones do not need electricity to sustain life, but recharged by ambient energy - which are combined with new foot battery packs (the soldiers of the battery charge in March, can be used with radios, etc.) and mobile power panels Solar has the ingredients of "kidnapping" the rest of the world, and use information as a substitute for violence and wealth, and as an educational platform to liberate the entrepreneurial energies of the five billion poor. This is an ideal book for those who accept it as a tutorial. It is not the be all, but they all end one, am VERY imprressed. For larger image and other views, consider the books below (or just my comments summary). Biomimicry: Innovation Inspired by Nature Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the Way We Make Things Business Design: Why Design Thinking is the next competitive advantage Ecological Economics: Principles and Applications Green to Gold: How Smart Companies Use Strategy Environmental innovate, create value and generate competitive advantages Natural Capitalism: Creating the Next Industrial Revolution resilient From Earth: Science, Global Warming and the fate of humanity

  5. Croston provides plenty of examples of some very green companies will surely make some profit, given the rights management and market, along with some rough initial costs (on a scale of $ $$$$$), when Home is, and the skills and the special challenges that lie ahead. It also includes the reasons why it would be a smart idea and profitable. However, the only thing I miss in this book is a simple section on "the first steps to start." As I mentioned in the title, this is great when you have business experience and have done many times before, but to gain more than 5 stars I want to be open to all persons regardless of experience.
